Mission

Caliber: Beta Academy’s (Caliber) mission is to achieve educational equity by shifting the experiences, expectations, and outcomes for students in historically underserved communities. The school’s strengths-based educational program validates, affirms, respects, and supports students, families, and staff members to reach their full potential.

Curriculum & Instruction

Caliber uses a social and emotional learning (SEL) curriculum, and all students receive personalized learning plans to guide instruction throughout the academic year. The school also offers coding and a robotics program.

Culture & Safety

Caliber offers a variety of opportunities for students and families to engage in building a positive school culture, including the Black Community Council, Fall and Spring Festivals, and Student Council (middle school). Caliber also has a variety of parent and family volunteer opportunities.

Programs & Activities

Caliber provides a variety of after school clubs and programming, including: urban gardening, basketball, soccer, Gay Straight Alliance (GSA), Student Government, Tennis, Girls on the Run, Flag Football, Band and Chess.

Enrollment Priorities

The following information will be used to prioritize applicants at Caliber: Beta Academy during the Round One student assignment process. No particular type of applicant is guaranteed admission, and all applicants are prioritized in the following way:

  1. Students who have a sibling currently attending Caliber: Beta Academy
  2. Children of Caliber employees
  3. Children of founding family members of Caliber: Beta Academy
  4. Students who reside in the West Contra Costa Unified School District boundary
  5. All other applicants

Caliber: Beta Academy makes every attempt to accommodate siblings who apply together in the same school year. A separate enrollment application must be submitted for each student.

School Hours

M-F: TK-8th grade start at 8am. | M-TH: TK-4th grade get dismissed at 3:15pm and 5-8th grades get dismissed at 3:31pm. | Fri: TK-8th grade get dismissed at 12:25pm.

After Care

Aftercare for all grade levels: M-TH: 3:15-6pm (LS) & 3:31-6pm (US) Fri: 12:25-6pm.

Before Care

Students can arrive as early at 7:30am. Breakfast is served from 7:30-7:55am.
