Mission

Summit Public Schools’ mission is to prepare a diverse student population for success in college and to be thoughtful, contributing members of society.

Curriculum & Instruction

Summit Tam prepares students for college through personalized project-based learning, mentorship, and reading and math interventions. Students meet with their mentor one-on-one and build key habits such as time management and managing stress. Teachers build students’ critical thinking skills via a rigorous college prep curriculum, and specialized support is offered in class and after school.

Culture & Safety

Summit Tam offers a robust mentoring program that builds authentic connections and supports students in achieving their academic goals. Summit also practices restorative justice to ensure all students contribute positively to the school community and meet behavior expectations. Both students and parents are empowered to be involved in this program, and Summit Tam also offers a parent education series and numerous volunteer opportunities. To build a positive culture, Summit Tam has rallies, spirit weeks, dances, and cultural celebrations.

Programs & Activities

Summit Tam offers many clubs and sports, such as yearbook, drama, Service Club, Girl Scouts, chess, student ambassadors, Event Planner Club, volleyball, basketball, soccer, and cheer. Summit Tam communicates regularly with parents and families via weekly newsletters, TeamSnap, robo-calls, and mailers. Summit Tam also offers a parent education series, as well as a parent organization, POP (Parents of the Pack). After school programming includes Boys & Girls Clubs, sports, academic support, and a variety of other clubs.

COVID-19 Safety Information

As the pandemic entered our lives in the Spring of 2020, Summit committed to make decisions in the best interest of our students and the safety of our community. We have taken the same approach in designing our policies and practices for the start of 2021-22 School Year. We are excited to be back together in our buildings, and we know that as we enter this year, we must be ever vigilant.
